We are very pleased to invite you to the Interdisciplinary World Congress of Urban Studies II, which will be held at Istanbul Topkapı University Kazlıçeşme Campus and online between 30 November, 01 and 02 December 2023. While the hybrid format of the congress allows participants from all over the world to participate in the congress, we would like to express our wish to meet in person with as many participants as possible in Istanbul. Congress languages​​are Turkish and English. Abstracts in both languages ​​will be accepted. We welcome valuable contributions to the congress from all disciplines, NGOs, policy makers/practitioners and academics. We encourage other comparative and/or longitudinal perspectives that address the topics listed below or are otherwise related to the congress theme. The fields of interest of the Congress include but are not limited to the following sub-topics: • Disaster management and security • Water safety • Global climate crisis and migration • Climate crisis and food security • Climate migrants/refugees and security • Urban life and sustainability • Disasters and migration • Disasters and gender equality • Disasters and resilient cities • United Nations Sustainable Development Goals • Disasters and human rights • Disaster-resistant sustainable cities • Post-disaster migration policies • History of cities, migrations and disasters The Congress is open to all disciplines (development studies, economics, geography, sociology, anthropology, sustainability, political science, law, psychology, history, international relations and other similar fields and sub-disciplines). In particular, articles investigating the ethical and sustainability dimensions of disasters are welcome.
